By mid-December, Chicago is firmly in winter, and the December 13 trip to Hard Rock Stadium is as good an excuse as any to trade a few days of cold for South Florida sunshine. If your group is making the trip, Hollywood, FL is a beach-town home base a short drive from the stadium — and a lot more pleasant than a stadium-strip hotel room.
The Matchup
The Bears visit Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday, December 13. Direct flights from Chicago into Miami International or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International make the trip straightforward, and both airports are a short drive from Hollywood.
Why Hollywood Beats a Stadium-Strip Hotel
A hotel room next to the stadium puts you close to the game and not much else. Hollywood sits roughly 25 to 30 minutes north and gives your group an actual beach, a walkable Broadwalk, and local restaurants worth the trip on their own — a much better place to spend a December weekend than a parking-lot hotel strip.
Total Oasis: Room for the Whole Crew
For a group bigger than a couple of hotel rooms, Total Oasis is built for it: five connected units sleeping up to 30 guests under one roof, with a shared kitchen and pool so your group can actually be together for the weekend instead of split across hotel floors. Smaller travel parties can book one of our individual units — Oasis, Sunrise, or Sunset — and still be minutes from the beach and close to the stadium.
Make a Weekend of It
Mid-December in Chicago means bundling up for Soldier Field; mid-December in Hollywood means a pool day is still very much on the table. Build an extra day or two into the trip and your group can get real beach time in before heading to Miami Gardens for kickoff.
A few practical notes: book your rental car and rideshare early, since Hard Rock Stadium’s lots and surrounding streets fill up well before kickoff, and plan extra time to clear the area once the game wraps up.
Kismet Getaways has hosted plenty of visiting fan groups over the years, with more than 1,600 guest reviews across our properties. Check availability for December 13 before the best units are gone.
