Detroit’s fan base travels well, and the November 8 trip to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Dolphins is shaping up to be no exception. If your group is making the trip south, skip splitting everyone across separate hotel rooms and look at Hollywood, FL instead — a quieter, beach-town home base a short drive from the stadium.
The Matchup
The Lions visit Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday, November 8. Both Miami International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airports work well for the trip down from Detroit, and either puts you close to Hollywood for the weekend.
Why Hollywood Beats a Stadium-Strip Hotel
A hotel room steps from Hard Rock Stadium sounds appealing until you see what it costs on game day. Hollywood sits roughly 25 to 30 minutes north, and it comes with an actual beach, a walkable Broadwalk, and restaurants worth sticking around for — not just a parking lot and a lobby bar.
Total Oasis: Room for the Whole Pride
For a group too big for a couple of hotel rooms, Total Oasis is the easier answer: five connected units sleeping up to 30 guests under one roof, with a shared kitchen and pool so your group can actually spend the weekend together instead of scattered across a hotel tower. Smaller groups can book one of our individual units — Oasis, Sunrise, or Sunset — and still be minutes from the beach and a short drive from the stadium.
Make a Weekend of It
November in Michigan means the first real cold snap; November in Hollywood still means short sleeves. Build in an extra day or two around the game and your group can swap Ford Field’s indoor climate for actual sunshine on Hollywood Beach.
A few practical notes: book your rental car and rideshare early, since Hard Rock Stadium’s lots and nearby streets fill up well before kickoff, and plan extra time to get out of the area once the game ends.
Kismet Getaways has hosted plenty of visiting fan groups over the years, with more than 1,600 guest reviews across our properties. Check availability for November 8 before the best units are gone.
